“Cathy Rosenberg played a vital role in getting our daughter accepted to Stanford University on early acceptance. Cathy worked closely with our daughter to help her craft succinct and powerful essays expressing why she was an ideal candidate for Stanford. Cathy helped guide our daughter to recognize what aspects of her life would be most interesting to Stanford and how to express them directly and poignantly. The Stanford reviewer later told us that our daughter’s essays had brought tears to her eyes and immediately put our daughter at the top of the “we must have this student” pile.
We brought in Cathy to direct our daughter in her essay writing because Cathy came with a strong track record of helping students get accepted to top-flight schools. We knew Cathy coaxed the best ideas and writing possible from each student, while at the same time was vigilant in promoting essays that were unmistakably rendered by the students.”

“The help I received from Cathy Rosenberg is one of the reasons I was accepted into so many top-notch universities. She took great care in editing my college essays by meticulously reviewing every idea and sentence I wrote; while at the same time helped me maintain and develop my voice. She was also incredibly patient. When I wasn’t perfectly satisfied with an essay we edited it multiple times. Cathy doesn’t just hand you back a paper like an English teacher. She sits down with you and talks about the essay. She lets you know what she is thinking and elicits questions and discussion from you as well.”
– Cornell University Graduate
“Cathy was able to help me shape my essay into something I never imagined it could become. My paper went from flat to dynamic through her guiding and helpful critiques. It became a work that I was completely secure with and proud to send to the colleges I was applying to. SHe was able to help me put onto paper what I had in my heart but couldn’t quite figure out how to put into words.”

“If I could pinpoint the reason I received admission to five competitive liberal colleges it wouldn’t be my grade point average or my SAT scores. It was the assistance I received in writing my essays from Cathy Rosenberg. She was there to help me every step of the way. I was frequently surprised with Cathy’s eagerness toward reading drafts at any time of day and how highly she prioritized doing this for me. Cathy was also very personable throughout the whole process. She not only helped me get into a group of highly respected and very selective schools but also improved my overall confidence as a writer. I will carry that confidence through the rest of my life.”

“As a predominately math and science oriented student, writing, particularly non-scientific writing, has never come naturally to me. Upon starting my applications for veterinary school, I knew this could become a hinderance considering the heavy weight placed on the personal statement. The personal statement is the means by which the admissions committees can further analyze an applicant beyond their grades, extracurriculars, and achievements. It is your only chance to leave an impact and hopefully stand apart from the other applicants, many of which are just as qualified as yourself.
Cathy began her work by reading through the first draft of my personal statement, and pointing out what it lacked (mainly emotion) and ways in which I could expand specific points. This process continued for many weeks. She, making suggestions, and me, running home to edit, revise and resend the statement to her. At the end of my endeavor, I was shocked that the personal statement before me was a piece that I had written. It was intriguing, it was concise, and most importantly, it was heartfelt.
Cathy has an innate ability to turn an ordinary essay into something extraordinary. Not by writing the essay in your place, but by guiding you to the correct path and showing you the missing pieces. I am incredibly thankful for the opportunity to have worked with her. In the fall, I will be starting my first semester of veterinary school at Texas A&M University as one of ten nonresident students accepted per year, in addition to a generous scholarship package, and I owe my success to Cathy Rosenberg.
